FR0M PASTOR HIGHFIELD - I
attended the Administrative Council last Monday and was pleased to
meet
with many of the church leaders. There is a lot going on at Deer Park UMC!
During this time of
transition,
your leaders are actively serving and focusing on our Mission. The Council
had a good spirit.
I learned that the
Trustees will be seeking the help of the congregation to spruce up the
parsonage. I
hope
that many hands will volunteer for this. We also talked about a future Homecoming
Sunday. I
continue
to be available for pastoral conversations and am stopping by the office and
making pastoral
visits
on Tuesday and Thursday. Thank you for your ministry as a community of
followers of Jesus
Christ.
Before I was asked
to serve Deer Park UMC, I had accepted two other preaching commitments. On
August 1 I will be
preaching at Independence Christian Church in Ashland, Virginia and on August
8, I
will
be preaching at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Winfield. On those two
Sundays, Pastor Al
Lane will preach at
Deer Park.

contributing, won't you please pick up a few extra non-perishable items for
